Feb 15/09 Show Report: Results The first of 2009 Winterfest Hunter/Jumper Shows at the renamed Hendervale facility, now Bronte Creek, is history. Facility staff worked hard getting the facility and footing well prepared, recently adding additional footing and dust suppressant, and doing extra clean up. Remarks were positive about the footing and courses. Thank you to sponsor Equestrian Factory Outlet, Guelph Area Store, for providing Series Championship prizes for the shows at Bronte Creek. Photographs were taken by Andrew Bailini, and will be found on www.photosbybailini.com

There was a big increase in entries for this show with a record 69 horses for the day, and especially for the hunter classes. Thank you to all for your efficiency to get 210 trips over fences completed along with the 6 flat classes and jump offs. It was a big jump from the 70 some trips expected when we arrived that morning. So also, particularly to the jumper entries, a thank you for your patience. Results and updated Championship Charts are posted.

Solana and Laura Whyte are leading the Hunter Championship standings for the Winterfest Series at Bronte Creek, plus High Point Hunter/Jumper Award standings to date. There is a tie so far in the jumper standings between Ability ridden by Joelle Charbonneau, and My Prince Charming and Nessie Nankivell.

Lots more training and competition opportunities to come. The good news is the remaining Winterfest Shows at Bronte Creek per the schedule above are either hunter or jumper, not combined, so remaining show days will be a more reasonable length, but thanks again for your support of the Winterfest Series and it is obviously now time to run separate days for hunters and jumpers at this location. RJR

Feb 8/09 Show Report: Results It was a good start for our first show at this location. 33 horses entered to begin the Winterfest Series Hunter/Jumper Shows at Blacks Equine Centre, completing 79 hunter and jumper rounds over fences and 5 flat classes. We enjoyed a mild almost Spring-like day, and appreciate how facility staff prepared the footing so well in the competition ring and warm-up arena. Positive comments about the show and courses, and encouragement received about the Series were appreciated.

Competitors gained a head start on Series Championships, overall Winterfest Series High Point awards, and entering their ballots into a draw for the 50,000 AeroPlan points prize. Celestial Rhythm and Victoria Corbett are leading the way in the Hunter Championship with 163 points, and RCS Shadrach and Pat Allen are heading up the Jumper Championship chart after the first show. Championship Charts are posted here and will be updated each show. Thank you to sponsor Dreamridge Tack Shop for providing discount coupons to competitors at the show, and for also providing prizes to Champions of this Series. Results are posted using the link to the left. Also thanks to Rob Taylor, show photographer, who advised photos will be up on his web site www.taylordgraphics.com/horses.html by mid week. Thank you again to all who participated at this inaugural show. We look forward to growth from show to show as occurred in 2008 at Hendervale as people realize this new Series and location provides another very good opportunity to further develop horses and riders with their hunter/jumper skills.
